I have had the VSX-92TXH elite Home Theater A/V Receiver for several months. I bought it so I could use the new HDMI cables to connect my HDMI TV, my Comcast Dual Tuner Converter Box, my LG DVD/VCR Recorder, and some other machines to my Sony sound system. We enjoy listening to movies through our Sony Stereo Speakers.
This is in response to the one star rating. I've had mine for about a year and I love it , no problems whatsoever. I do know that if you don't buy from an authorized dealer must company's will not help much, perhaps that was his problem, who knows. I've had experience with Pioneer with my BDP-95 Blu-ray player, and they were terrific, and very responsive.
This unit was a replacement for an older Denon AVR-4800 which I liked but this Elite really has excellent soundfield presence and the calibration was painless. Purchased for use with Pioneer Plasma PDP-4280, Sony PS3. If you need network integration you will have to go for the VSX-94TXH which will also give you (4X1) hdmi switchinga nd a few more watts/channel but costs a lot more. The HDMI switching (3X1) works well with no noticeable artifacts. The real story is the sound processing which is 5 star. This unit is solid and built to last. I am quite pleased after 3 months of use.
A great receiver. Pricey but well worth the money. Setup was quick and painless and I love having the 3 HDMI passthroughs.
I am still being given the "we'll get back to you" run-around at this very moment, 2+ months and counting in the repair shop Radio Active Repair in Lancaster, PA(avoid them like the plague as well, they didn't even know what PCM was compared to Bitstreme.). Pioneer however has dropped the ball completely.
I bought this Pioneer Elite reciever from Pioneer in February of this year. A Warning to all Amazon.com consumers please be aware of the horrible experience that I have had with Pioneer, and hopefully, you'll avoid the same mistake I made.
Don't get me wrong I am not reviewing Amazon or the Sub Seller they had nothing to do with it. It completely froze in one month.
I could unplug the unit and after a short wait plug it back in and then it would work, however in just an hour or even less it froze again.(By freeze I mean it completely locked into the position it was in and I could change nothing, not the volume, not the input, nothing).Even worse however has been the horrible customer service that I have recieved from Pioneer since this began. If you value your electronics like I do, and you want to be treated with respect when something does go wrong, if it does, then avoid Pioneer like the plague.
I wish I new this before I bought one.
